How to improve...

How to improve my conversation video

To improve my conversation video I must ensure that I follow the rule of thirds when shooting over the shoulder shots in the conversation as this will reduce the amount of empty space around the people in my shot and also show who the main focus of the specific shot is.

I must also ensure that my shots do not jump from each clip to another and that the conversation within the clips is not broken and remains continuous throughout the duration of the video.

To improve the overall quality of my video I must shoot more footage than I actually need to put in my video as this will allow me to have a choice between which clips to use in my final video and allows me to see which clips are of a higher quality than others.

To further improve my video I will try to break the 180 degree rule whilst filming in order to make it more interesting for the viewer, but whilst doing this I must ensure that it is clear to the viewer that the camera is moving in the shot and that the shot doesn't just jump from one angle to another which ensures that I do not disorientate the viewer.

I must use more long shots in the conversation rather than mainly over the shoulder shots and close ups as it will break up the clip and avoid the video from becoming too 'back and fourth' with these types of shots. I believe that using long shots more frequently will allow me to ensure that the viewer is aware of the surroundings that the conversation is taking place in.

List of shots to use...

- Long Shot
- Establishing Shot
- Over the shoulder Shot
- Medium close up
- Master Shot
- Extreme close up
- Medium Shot
