Conversation 2
Evaluation
I believe that this video was of a much higher quality than my previous one as my knowledge of framing and camerawork has improved. I think the conversation within the video flowed much easier than my last video and the clips fit together better.
How to improve...
How to improve my conversation video
To improve my conversation video I must ensure that I follow the rule of thirds when shooting over the shoulder shots in the conversation as this will reduce the amount of empty space around the people in my shot and also show who the main focus of the specific shot is.I must also ensure that my shots do not jump from each clip to another and that the conversation within the clips is not broken and remains continuous throughout the duration of the video.
To improve the overall quality of my video I must shoot more footage than I actually need to put in my video as this will allow me to have a choice between which clips to use in my final video and allows me to see which clips are of a higher quality than others.
To further improve my video I will try to break the 180 degree rule whilst filming in order to make it more interesting for the viewer, but whilst doing this I must ensure that it is clear to the viewer that the camera is moving in the shot and that the shot doesn't just jump from one angle to another which ensures that I do not disorientate the viewer.
I must use more long shots in the conversation rather than mainly over the shoulder shots and close ups as it will break up the clip and avoid the video from becoming too 'back and fourth' with these types of shots. I believe that using long shots more frequently will allow me to ensure that the viewer is aware of the surroundings that the conversation is taking place in.
List of shots to use...
- Long Shot- Establishing Shot
- Over the shoulder Shot
- Medium close up
- Master Shot
- Extreme close up
- Medium Shot

Conversation Video
Evaluation
I feel that I followed my storyboard well and the story within my video was easy to follow. However, I think that my camera work was quite shaky and it was difficult to see what was being said in the long shots, so to improve my video if I re-made it I would ensure that we were in a quieter environment and that what was being said was louder than it was previously. I think that the music used in the video suits what is happening well and is not out of place in the video.
Shooting Conversation
Evaluation
I think that my storyboard video portrayed the conversation well, however I think that I could have used a wider variety of shot types to express emotions in the conversation. I also think that I could have used the space within my shots better in order to keep the focus on the participants within the conversation.

College Life
Overall, I think my video uses the specific shot types well and the storyline is easy to follow. My video could have been improved if I was able to keep the camera steadier when filming my video would look much more professional and of a higher quality.

Shot Types
Evaluation
Overall I believe that my video shows the different shot types well, however I think that if I had linked the different clips together with a story line the video as a whole would have improved as it would give it more meaning and make it more interesting for the viewer. Also, some of my clips are slightly out of focus so I should have checked the quality of the videos before uploading them onto the mac.
I think that the choice of music for my video suited what was happening within the clips and was not out of place in the video. I also think that I showed the different shot types well and kept closely to the framing guidelines of each shot type.
If I re-made this video I would ensure that the clips fit together nicely in order to make a short story using the different shot types. I also think that if I re-made this video the shots would be much clearer as I would have a more in-depth knowledge on how to use the features within the camera itself.
